NQHA Open Show Awards Program
The WNHA is approved with the NQHA Awards Program for the current show season. The NQHA Open Show Awards Program is designed to recognize our members who exhibit their American Quarter Horses in venues other than approved Quarter Horse Shows. The following are the rules and guidelines for this wonderful program.
1. Horses must be registered American Quarter Horses.
2. The exhibitor must be a member of NQHA prior to the show date.
3. An annual nomination fee for each horse/rider combination per division must accompany the initial point form or be paid before any points accumulated will count for awards. The fees are: Division 1: $5.00; Division 2-9: $10.00 per division
4. The exhibitor is responsible for turning in all points tracking forms to the Open Show point coordinator via the NQHA office at 11300 Pickens Dr, Reno, NV 89511.
5. The Open Show Point Coordinator must receive all points forms within 30 days of the show date.
6. Points are awarded per horse/rider combination.
7. Points will carry over from year to year.
8. Points accumulated as a youth will carry over to the adult division.
9. Point forms must be received by October 31st of the year you wish to win an award in order for those points to count for that year. Forms received after the 31st will count for the following year.
10. Open Show points can be earned at any show or event in Nevada which is open to all breeds and colors, i.e. NSHA Open Shows, Saddle Club Shows, Local schooling shows, NENHA, etc.
11. Two bonus points will be awarded per division for exhibiting at any NQHA approved show. There is no limit to the number of bonus points that can be earned. Anyone showing in an NQHA/AQHA approved show must be a member of AQHA (membership forms available at the show).
12. The horse/rider combination must actually show in Open Shows in classes in the division(s) in which they have nominated.
13. Any show that is double judged counts as two separate shows-two points forms must be submitted, one for each judge.
14. Champion and Reserve Champion classes also count. Two points are awarded for each Grand Championship and one point is awarded for each Reserve Championship.
15. Point forms are available on the NQHA website and can be submitted to the office, or the forms can be sent to you upon request.
